MY PRIORITIES
-
Every student deserves a fair shot no matter where they live, what they look like, or how much their family earns. I believe equity means meeting students where they are and making sure resources are distributed in ways that truly support learning, not just on paper, but in the classrooms every day.
-
Our teachers give so much of themselves, often without the support or compensation they deserve. If we want strong schools, we have to value the people who make them run. I will advocate for fair pay, respect, and support for our educators so they can focus on doing what they do best, teaching and inspiring our children.
-
Our children are carrying far more than just schoolwork. Their mental well-being is just as important as their grades. I am committed to improving access to counselors, mental health supports, and safe spaces so students feel seen, supported, and valued.
-
Rural schools face real challenges limited resources, staffing shortages, transportation issues, and lack of broadband access. I am committed to making sure rural students are not overlooked and that they receive the same opportunities as students anywhere else in the state.
Family First: The Heart Behind Shatika’s Fight for a Brighter Tomorrow
Shatika’s greatest inspiration comes from home—her husband of 18 years, Earlest, and their children Emmanuel, Elijah, and Elise. Their love and strength remind her daily why every family deserves safety, opportunity, and a future filled with possibility.

Help Create Balance in Every Room.
Shatika J. Armstrong’s vision for Alabama starts with people—neighbors, parents, educators, and community members who believe every child deserves opportunity. If you share that hope, we’d love for you to be part of this movement.
Whether you have an hour a week or a few hours a month, your energy, skills, and presence make a real difference. Volunteers help us reach more families, share Shatika’s message, and build the strong, supportive communities our children deserve.
And if you’re not able to volunteer your time, gifts in kind go a long way toward supporting our grassroots effort.
